At Acadiana Veterans Hockey, we’re building more than a team — we’re building a community in the heart of Louisiana. Our mission is to support military veterans by bringing them together through camaraderie, competition, and a shared passion for hockey. Whether it’s a veteran lacing up skates for the very first time or a seasoned player gearing up for national disabled veterans tournaments, we’re here to help finding the equipment, ice time, and encouragement they need. From local scrimmages to national showdowns, every shift on the ice is a chance to heal, connect, and thrive — together.

⚜️MEET THE TEAM⚜️

Dedication is something we admire and strive for on a daily basis. Having to live over 3hrs away from the rink still wouldn’t stop this veteran from getting on the ice. With the drive taking longer than being with his teammates, shows true dedication and willingness to do what is sometimes the hardest..showing up! “I proudly served as a Combat Engineer with the Louisiana Army National Guard’s 528th Engineer Battalion from 2004 to 2012. During my military service, I supported the citizens of Louisiana through numerous hurricane response efforts and natural disaster recovery operations, reinforcing my commitment to service and helping others during times of need.

Following my military career, I continued my dedication to public service by pursuing a career in law enforcement, where I have served for more than 20 years. During that time, I spent 10 years as a member of a SWAT team and served as a sniper, gaining extensive experience in tactical operations, critical incident response, precision marksmanship, and high-risk law enforcement situations.

I currently hold the rank of Sergeant and supervise a night shift patrol division. In this leadership role, I am responsible for mentoring and guiding officers while continuing to serve my community with integrity, professionalism, and dedication.

Being a part of AVH has truly been a blessing in my life. Having the honor of knowing these men and women who have been through the same struggles is something I never take for granted. No matter the skill level, the most important thing on this team is acceptance.”

“I tell myself keep my head up, two hands on the stick, and you have more time than you think you do”

Today was an incredible honor for everyone involved with Acadiana Veterans Hockey. We were proudly recognized on the Senate floor at the Louisiana State Capitol by Senator Rick Edmonds for winning the Warrior National Championship this past April.

This recognition means so much more than a trophy. It represents the hard work, sacrifice, dedication, and selflessness that every veteran in our organization brings both on and off the ice.

We are proud to represent our community, our state, and most importantly our fellow veterans. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission of helping veterans heal and connect through the game of hockey.

From underdogs to National Champions, this team continues to prove what veterans are capable of when they stand together. 🇺🇸🏒⚜️
